Hilary Nathaniel Weekes closed his eyes on Tuesday 19th May 2020 at the age of 75.
It is with great sadness that we announce the recent passing of Mr Lyle Brome. Mr Brome was previously a Trustee and a very active member of BAFA (Reading) for maMr Brome, is credited with starting the Reading Community Carnival (previously known as the Reading West Carnival) and he also played a key role in the development of Reading Council for Race Equality (RCRE) which today is known as Alliance for Cohesion and Racial Equality (ACRE).
Mr Brome was an outstanding community person .RIPny years.
In the mid-80s, BAFA (Reading) [previously known as Barbados Association Reading] became dormant. Mr Brome together with Mr Peter Small, Mrs Patricia Cutting, the late Mrs Dorothy Springer and Mr Anderson Connell met in the Emmanuel Methodist Church, Oxford Road, Reading and agreed to restart the Association. That year, the Association held a service celebrating Barbados’ Independence at the same church.

will be held at The Globe, Portman Road, Reading on the Thrusday 23rd January @ 11am.
